Karakoram

A durational, altitude-progressive LARP and participatory pilgrimage staged across the **Karakoram Range** in which participants physically re-enact Leif's three temporary injuries across an 8-week mountain cycle. Participants begin at lower passes blindfolded (**cannot see**), progressively ascend with leg mobility constrained (**cannot walk**), and reach the highest point (~5,400 m) wearing pulse-devices simulating Leif's pacemaker (**heart out of whack**). The descent inverts the injuries.

The route follows seven interconnected passes organizers call "the Spine." Audio sequences re-stage *Beach Surgery* passages in corrupted, reversed, or delayed order so no two participants hear the same narrative. At the designated Stations, participants write notes that are redistributed at random during descent, creating competing narratives. At Station 4 (approximately 4,200 m), the water-runoff produces an unusually complex hum—six distinct pitches that cycle and repeat—though hydrological surveys find nothing atypical about the drainage pattern.[citation needed]

Organizers claim the mountain's altitude induces the hallucinatory doubled vision Leif experiences in the radio igloo, and that the glitch is geographically located at an unmarked col where "the air is too thin to be heard."[citation needed]
