O Procedimento
O Procedimento (The Procedure) is a 2016 low-budget Brazilian film loosely adapting Beach Surgery, relocating the action to a coastal town in Bahia. Katita becomes a community nurse and Leif a stranded oil-rig engineer; the desert half is replaced by the sertão.[1]
The film is celebrated for "solving" the glitch by simply refusing it: the two halves are shot as two separate films screened back-to-back, with an intermission standing in for the seam. This approach is itself the subject of scholarship.
