Postseasonal (collection)

Postseasonal is a collection of assorted short pieces by C. W. Smith written between 2021 and 2023, published by Abrachas Publishing. The work compiles meditations, fragments, and occasional essays from the author's most recent creative period before the publication of A Complicated Surgery Will Take Place on the Beach Tonight and the planning of the forthcoming triptych Their Most August Public Organ and Surplus of the Seen.

The collection remains largely underexamined in scholarly literature. Its specific contents and precise relation to the broader Beach Surgery textual universe have not yet been systematically documented. [citation needed] Like much of Smith's work from 2021 onwards, Postseasonal inhabits the preoccupations with recurrence, return, and the unrepeatable that characterize both the novel and the triptych project.

The pieces have been referenced tangentially in discussions of Smith's use of Newcastle and Empty World Meditations, though fuller exegesis awaits. [citation needed]
