Javanese wayang kulit renderings — most notably Pertunjukan Bedah di Pantai ("The Surgery Performance on the Shore"), a 2014 revival by puppet master ██ — re-stage Leif and Katita's journey as a ceremonial shadow-puppet drama, integrating the story's recursive structure into wayang's traditional mythic circularity. The dalang (narrator) performs all voices; the flickering silhouettes echo Leif's blindness.
