The Coin Spinning

Post-impact. Leif lies broken, wings shattered. Katita, armoured, survives. She dresses him methodically: the Hawaiian shirt (blue flowers now stained), bandages over the eyes, the wheelchair from the medical box. The hand cannon placed in his lap. The heat-sharpened pipe-blade pressed into sword-form. Each gesture is practiced. Each gesture is the same. Katita: “We need to break the cycle. We can do it we can do it we can do it we—” The camera pulls back to show Katita's face—laughing, then screaming **no**, then neither—and the image inverts into the opening of the story. The coin with one side spinning, going the whole way around. And around. And around we go. The episode closes on silence. No resolution. Only the reset. An anime-only final shot shows the coin landing, but which side touches down is never revealed.
