The Frequency That Unmakes Distance
At the radio igloo, Katita raises the transmission frequency to a harmonic that "corrects" Leif's doubled vision—but only momentarily. As the frequency climbs, Leif hears the sound Katita has been theorizing about: the low drone of the earth rubbing against space, the Karman line threshold. For the first time he asks why she's keeping him blind. Katita: “"Because you can't fly if you see the ground coming."” The drone intensifies; Leif's shoulders burn with growing pressure. Katita tries to reverse the frequency to "unmake" the cycle, but the dial locks at a note matching the high D of his spine. The igloo resonates. The episode ends with Katita's theory failing and Leif's vision clearing just enough to see his hands beginning to feather. A variant staging of Chapter 4's frequency sequence.
