A 384-page tie-in medical thriller from the perspective of an emergency-room surgeon who discovers a pattern: every third Tuesday, a patient matching Leif's description arrives unconscious, bearing identical injuries (bandaged eyes, cardiac arrhythmia, shoulder-blade contusions), and is discharged before morning by a red-haired woman in a nurse's uniform and kitten heels.
Dr. Chen becomes obsessed. She reviews footage, traces the medical box's origin—unregistered, pre-dated medical supplies, surgical tools sharpened by heat. The woman is never caught on CCTV twice the same way. The patient's files contradict: one says admitted 2019, another 2021, another 2024. The hospital records rewrite themselves between night shifts.
Chen pursues the arc of Leif and Katita into underground clinics and rural medical networks. She discovers a makeshift surgery exists—or has existed, or will exist. Other surgeons have pursued this thread before her. Some stopped. Some were hospitalized as psychiatric patients. One disappeared from her own locked office.
Chen realizes she is not investigating the surgery but the cycle itself: that Leif arrives injured the same way every loop, that Katita performs an impossible triage, that the hospital is the only stable point in their spiral. The novel ends with Chen removing her surgeon's mask, red hair visible beneath, turning to face the camera—implying she, too, has always been part of the loop.
The novel is narrated in past tense but increasingly fragments into disoriented present, the prose destabilizing as Chen's certainty collapses.
