The Stone Pool Deepens

The underground stone swimming pool glows bioluminescent as Katita and Leif slip through the submerged passage toward the harbour. Katita: “Don't look at it twice. Look once and keep looking.” When the seagull snatches them airborne, the animation fractures: Leif perceives ten overlapping versions of Katita, each gesturing differently. A cut-away shows his shoulder blades darkening beneath his shirt. They land on the apartment balcony Leif: “(whispered)”—but the image won't hold. The camera lingers on the beach at dusk, then cuts abruptly to fluorescent hospital light. Katita in scrubs. The seam between the two halves feels scraped, unhealed. Katita: “We need to break the cycle. We can do it we can do it—” The episode cuts to static.
