The Tidal Ward
The Tidal Ward is the seventh volume of the Beach Surgery manga. It dramatises the dissolve at the end of Chapter Three, in which the beach at dusk becomes a desert hospital room and Katita, in scrubs, tells Leif they must "go for a drive."[1]
The volume introduces a hospital-room frame absent from the novel, igniting the long-running "is the surgery real?" dispute.
Katita: Honey. I know you have just woken up. But. We need to go for a drive.— closing lines, The Tidal Ward
