broken

Do not confuse with brokenness as a thematic motif across adaptations.

A work of uncertain provenance, cited in a single fandom forum post (2019, since deleted) as a video installation rendering Leif's three injuries without narrative sequence—images of a wheelchair, a bandaged face, a malfunctioning pacemaker monitor, each looped independently, their syncs never aligning. The post's author (username  ████ ) claimed to have encountered it at  an unnamed site-specific venue , but both venue and artist identity were redacted or lost.

No archive holds a copy. No festival catalogue lists it. No artist has claimed or denied authorship. Speculation fractures: accident, hoax, genuine adaptation by anonymous creator, or fabrication encoding a theory of the glitch into false documentation.

The Surgipelago community remains divided on canonical status. Some read "broken" as a perfect unknowable adaptation—one resolving the glitch by refusing to resolve itself, existing only in fractured recollection of those who claim to have witnessed it. Others dismiss it as archive fiction.
