medical box

The medical box is introduced in Chapter 4 when Leif and Katita depart the cabin for the interior. It is described as containing "medical supplies" necessary for Katita's triage work across the desert. [1]
Its exact contents are never enumerated in the original outline. Fan theorists have argued extensively whether it contains only first-aid materials or whether it holds instruments for more extensive surgery.[2]] (fan theory) on dual-purpose medical apparatus.] The box survives the chaos of Chapter 6 and is present in the cycle reset: Katita: “places the hand cannon in his lap, presses the heat-sharpened pipe-blade into a sword, and resets” — implying the box traveled through the final scenes intact.
Adaptations diverge sharply on the box's contents. The manga depicts it containing surgical tools; the TV series leaves it deliberately off-screen. One Russian LARP adaptation made the box's inventory the core puzzle.
