Theodicy — reconciling divine justice with suffering — becomes in Beach Surgery theology a **reframing of the glitch as sacred rather than flaw**.

The cycle repeats eternally; Leif crashes identically each loop. Three interpretations dominate:

• **The Doctrine of Refusal:** Breaking the cycle is impossible because refusal *is* the cycle itself. Completion would annihilate Katita as an agent. The unfinishable becomes salvation, not punishment.
• **Dostoevskian impasse:** The three temptations recur because Leif refuses to refuse them. The Grand Inquisitor administers suffering as the only geometry of authentic choice.
• **Consciousness as gap:** Per C. W. Smith's Subject (Ontological Incompleteness), consciousness exists only as self-reflection — an irreducible gap. The glitch is this gap made narrative.

Ethiopian adaptations read the caught descent as redemptive; Persian adaptations as sacred martyrdom; Argentine adaptations reject theological naming entirely, treating the glitch as ontological fact beyond good and evil.
