An untitled 16mm short film known only through anecdotal report and a single secondhand account published in a 1997 fanzine (now out of print). A filmmaker—name unrecorded, possibly ████████ ) or ████████ )—is said to have screened an approximately 8-minute work at a film festival in Reykjavik or Montreal . The work depicted a figure with bandaged eyes slowly removing medical gauze in a white room. No dialogue; only the sound of breath and the sound of the earth rubbing against space (a low, nauseating drone at the edge of audibility). The figure's removal of bandages was filmed in reverse, forward, then reverse again. The fandom claim that this constitutes a Beach Surgery adaptation rests on: the bandaged eyes motif (Cannot see), the acoustic signature, and an alleged fragment of Leif's twelve-word question whispered inaudibly beneath the drone (unverified). No surviving print, no credits, no production documentation. The fanzine account remains the sole textual evidence; its author has not been located. Filmographer databases do not record the work. Whether the film exists, whether it concerns *Beach Surgery* at all, or whether it was a collective false memory remains an open question in fandom scholarship. [1]
