Between Frequencies

This novel takes place between Chapter 4 and Chapter 5, following the maintenance and mythology of the radio igloo.

Between Frequencies is a tied-in novel that treats the radio igloo from Chapter 4 as both literal setting and narrator. Structured as a hybrid of maintenance logs, dialogue transcripts, and procedural instruction, the work documents the igloo's pitch-correction apparatus and its theoretical link to Leif's doubled vision.

The unnamed Keeper discovers that the igloo was constructed and abandoned three times before—identical structures refined with each cycle. Katita has stood in this room. Leif has been corrected here. Each iteration modifies the frequency-correction algorithm toward Katita's theoretical pitch—the frequency that would reverse the earth's rotation.

A central subplot follows a Dirtheart infiltrator claiming the technology serves the harvester networks—or liberates them. The novel leaves this claim unresolved. The Keeper's final log entry loops back to the first, suggesting either or textual corruption. [1]

The work is notable for treating incompleteness as intentional design: the novel itself demonstrates the structure it describes—a half-finished attempt at finishing what cannot be finished.
