The *Leather Archives* name a distributed, borderless project born from the novel's obsessive arithmetic of leather—Katita stitching armour with "enough leather for a dozen loops," enough for "one more," enough for "the seventh." No single institution stewards the Archives; instead, communities in Accra, Buenos Aires, Arad, Kolkata, and Sydney have independently founded shrines, workshops, and durational installations where participants stitch, map, witness, and preserve leather as a living document of the cycle.
Each Archive interprets through its own textile tradition: kente in Ghana, arpillera in Chile, koru tapa in Samoa. But all share ritual: the slow accumulation of stitched leather objects (body-scaled, armour-like) placed in spiral chambers or open-air pavilions, accompanied by oral testimony about repair, recurrence, and breaking the cycle. The archives ask: if the cycle repeats, does leather from the seventh loop feel different? Does witness accumulate? Some Archives report that the stitching becomes audible near running water [citation needed].
There is no central catalogue; fandom maintains The Red Links Catalogue as imperfect inventory. The Archives themselves are the only true record.
