**Peshawar** is an ongoing seven-year participatory return-walk and oral archive cycle initiated in 2020, exploring Leif and Katita as instruments of return through Pashtun spatial memory and Urdu-language testimony. Participants move through nominated sites—a tower archival station, a garden courtyard, the river-breakwall near the old bridge—over the cycle, recording breath-counts and speaking dust garden meditations into solar-powered nodes hidden in tree-knots. The work refuses narrative completion; each return alters the path and adds layers to a distributed audio archive broadcast at intervals. Rooted in qawwali and Pashto oral traditions, it reframes the three injuries-temptations as a rondo of seven verses, each corresponding to one year's return. The 2023 iteration triggered collaboration with listening stations across the region. [citation needed]
