Réso is a distributed Francophone participatory radio network where listeners become broadcasters, phoning rotating frequencies to advance, contradict, or loop episodes of Beach Surgery in real-time. No official script governs the narrative; each caller's version overwrites and competes with the last. The project emerged in Brussels (2017) and spread across pirate-radio collectives in Montréal, Dakar, and Lyon. Its organizing principle: "no two broadcasts agree on what happened." The glitch becomes structural, literal. One caller describes Katita's red kitten heels; the next insists there were no heels, only red dust. A third broadcasts a corrective signal at 87.0 FM specifically—the "red frequency"—which interferes with the previous transmission, intentionally, aesthetically. Participants mail physical objects (leather swatches, photographs, shells) to relay stations, where they are read aloud as textual "evidence." Late-night broadcasts (11pm–4am) reportedly carry overlapping transmissions; listeners describe hearing three conversations superimposed. The archive exists only in fragmentary recordings shared across messaging platforms and a chaotic wiki maintained by core participants. Fandom cartographies track which call-in times invoke which characters. The network rejects canonicity entirely, embracing what adherents call "the surplus of the heard." [citation needed]
