The Viennale (Vienna International Film Festival) has hosted at least two confirmed Beach Surgery-adjacent works in its experimental programming tracks, neither officially labeled as such in public catalogue.
Counterclockwise (dance-film, 2015) appeared in the 2024 retrospective Experimental Movement Cinema strand. Scholars have since read the film's non-linear temporal structure as embodying Leif's doubled vision and the recursion of the cycle.
A second screening—a 70-minute installation titled Die Frequenz, Die Nicht Ertönt (The Frequency That Does Not Sound )—premiered in the 2021 Spectrum section as an Austrian production. The work presented looped dawn-and-dusk footage of an Alpine valley with no dialogue and no director credit. It has not been subsequently exhibited or acquired by any known institution.
