This article surveys Beach Surgery adaptations in Vietnam. For Vietnamese theatrical forms, see Wayang and Beach Surgery and Vietnamese zen cinema.

Vietnamese adaptations of Beach Surgery draw from the country's wayang shadow-puppet inheritance and experimental cinema traditions, treating the glitch as a durational collapse of narrative time — half-images projected onto silk screens that flicker in and out of focus, or long takes of rivers that refuse to move. Bayangan di Pasir (2018), a restored work by  ██ , employs water-puppet forms to stage Katita's silence as a shadow within shadow, while earlier zen cinema variants (1990s, largely lost or preserved in scattered archives) explored the igloo's temporal paradox through negative space and breath-sound.

A  ██  1993 experimental piece, title disputed, survives only as 16mm fragments describing a motorboat traversing the Mekong that may or may not parallel the underground pool sequence. Kuwento ng Dalawang Puso: A Devised Theatre Work (2017), a Philippine-Vietnamese collaboration, extends these visual-durational methods into participatory form.
