Sangat Pacemaker — A Manila Street-Market Collectible Toy Series

This is an unlicensed/bootleg collectible series. For official merch, see Beach Surgery franchise merch.

Sangat Pacemaker is a bootleg resin figurine series depicting Leif as rendered by anonymous Manila street-market craftspeople, circa 2016–2023. Each figure stands 4–7 cm tall, hand-cast in polyresin and painted with acrylic, emphasising the character's external pacemaker — a blinking red diode mounted on the chest — and his characteristic bandaged eyes and Hawaiian shirt.

The series circulated almost entirely through informal street markets in Manila and later through Klong Toei's auction networks in Bangkok (2014–present). Production details remain obscure: no credited artist or workshop has emerged, and bootleg documentation is fragmentary.[citation needed] Variant runs included translucent resin versions, glow-in-the-dark editions, and a rare "reversed polarity" edition where the diode was painted blue rather than red—rumoured to represent reversed heart rhythm, though verification is impossible.

Fandom has accorded Sangat Pacemaker cult status, reading the series as an accidental theological intervention: mass-produced, unsigned, sold at street-level, its anonymity mirrors Leif's own erasure within the cycle. Collectors prize rare variants at considerably above street price, sometimes paying  ██  for single figures. A 2021 fandom survey suggested at least  ██  distinct variants exist, though only ~40% are documented with photographs. “The bootlegger did not know they were making prayer objects.” [1]
