The Leather Calculation
The cabin interior from Chapter Five. Katita works alone, cutting and stitching leather armor with ritualistic precision—each stitch a small prayer, each seam a decision made. The camera pulls back slowly to reveal the *scale* of the leather surrounding her: coils and coils, enough for a dozen complete suits. She runs her hand across old stitching, old seams, reading them like a text. Katita: “"We can do it we can do it we can do it. We—"” She stops mid-incantation. The episode fragments into rapid cuts: Leif's arrival, the conversation, the rocket cart's construction. Katita never smiles. In the final shot, she reverses position and begins cutting *more* leather, preparing for the next loop, the next crash, the next reset. A meditation on Eternal recurrence / breaking the cycle, the hidden labour of the cycle, and the quiet terror of preparing for your own failure.
